About the role
As Project Officer, Learning and Development, you will play a vital role in advancing workforce development initiatives and services. Your responsibilities will include:
- contributing to developing, improving and delivery of Lowitja Institute products related to workforce development and membership engagement
- assisting with development and implementation of Lowitja Institute's scholarship programs
- supporting Lowitja Institute in its role as course owner for the national course, Certificate IV in Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Research Theory and Practice
- planning and executing program activities in a timely and accurate manner
- implementing marketing and communication plans and engage Lowitja Institute Members and other identified key audiences for Lowitja Institute workforce development products and services
- supporting the delivery and continuous improvement of a training and education eco-system that supports online learning, including a Learning Management System (LMS), professional development training and other training and education related initiatives
- building and maintaining effective relationships both internally and externally to increase Lowitja Institute’s research, scholarship, education and training impact
- supporting planning and coordination activities for relevant committees and networks with external organisations
- contributing to monitoring and evaluation activities within the organisation, including contribution to the development and implementation of Lowitja Institute's Business Plan.
What you bring
We’re seeking a candidate who:
- can demonstrate knowledge and understanding of matters concerning the health and wellbeing of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples
- has experience in one or more of the following areas: Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander health research, project management, education and training, event management, marketing, sales and distribution or a related role in a government, NGO, community or voluntary agency
- can demonstrate organisational and project management skills, including the ability to work under pressure to meet tight timelines and achieve deliverables
- has strong digital skills and confidence using a variety of platforms such as CRM (customer relationship management) and/or LMS (learning management system)
- can demonstrate strong relationship management skills, including the ability to communicate (written and oral), engage, network and effectively interact and work with people from diverse backgrounds and various organisations
- has a growth mindset with demonstrated ability to work as a team member, follow direction from supervisors and work independently
- a solid commitment and understanding of cultural safety in an Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander context and the ability to contribute to a culturally safe environment.
Additional requirements: a Working with Children and Vulnerable Peoples Check (or state/territory equivalent), relevant qualifications (or progress towards them), and flexibility for occasional travel or out-of-hours work.
